The BabelCon Cosplay & Costume Competition is open to any individual or group registered at BabelCon.
The event will be held on Saturday night. See the program for exact time.
Entry forms should be brought to the Registration desk.
No entries will be allowed after 60 minutes before the contest starts.
There will be a limited number of entries. A group entry counts as one.
The competition is open to all age groups. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
Awards will include an engraved first place trophy in each adult category. Children receive a certificate.
Participants are judged on costume construction, originality and presentation.
Please limit presentations to 2 minutes or less.
No smoke effects, fake blood, or any other kind of substance will be allowed during the presentations.
Please keep costumes and presentations PG-rated as there will be children present.
"No costume" is not a costume. If in doubt as to a costume's raciness, get prior approval from a board member.
Participants need to be in the contest room at least 30 minutes before the competition in order to line up.
Late comers may not be allowed to participate if time does not allow.
Board members reserve the right to modify any of the competition rules before, during, or after the competition.
Real weapons must be peace bonded. Real guns are not allowed. Fake weapons cannot be made of metal.
On Saturday night, be in the lobby for the 3rd annual costume contest! This year, we've added a category specifically for Star Trek fans: Best Redshirt! And yes, we are obsessed with redshirts this year.<wink>
